J’pura Employability Skills Awards is an initiative brought forward by the Career Guidance Unit, which was held for the 2nd consecutive year in grand esteem on the 4th of October at Hotel Golden Rose.  It turned out to be an evening of glamour and color since the best among the best were awarded for their achievements throughout their university career.

 

Five awards were awarded along with the newly introduced “Best Employability Skills Award” (BESA) and each of these awards carried a sponsor. Among the dynamic individuals who claimed the titles for their hard work and dedication, Sajith Bandara Ekanayake was awarded the Best Creative Designer, Nuwan Attygalle was named as the Best Innovator, Saduni Senarathne was awarded the Best Communicator, Anosha Ranagalla; the Best Team player and Namal Premarathne received the award for the Best Team Leader.

 

The Best Employability Skills Award was presented to all the four faculties. Four finalists were selected from each faculty where the winners from each faculty were awarded the BESA and the runners up were awarded with silver medals. Sandaru Diwakara was awarded the BESA title who represented the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Randunu Dissanayake from the faculty of Medical Sciences, Uwin Ariyarathna from the faculty of Management and Commerce and Bhanuka Premarathne from the faculty of Applied Sciences. The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Professor Sampath Amaratunge and numerous dignitaries.

 

We warmly congratulate all the winners and the runners up for their achievements and wish them all the very best for their future endeavors.
