Christmas is finally here!! This is the season to celebrate peace, love and freedom!
On this special day, Christians all around the world will be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Others with different religious faith also enjoy this season full of colorful festivities. Most of the people are on holidays: enjoying the time, buying gifts and decorating houses. When we step outside we can witness how beautiful the decorations are: the whole world is lit up to celebrate this beautiful day.
We all know the story of Christmas and about the birth of Jesus. So in this article I want to write about something different. How should we celebrate Christmas? We can add more to this day than the festival spirit and the good food.
It’s always better to have one’s own personal way of celebrating Christmas. You might not be a Christian, but always remember that on this day we should think about the qualities which we lack with our very busy lifestyles. Jesus Christ preached the world to spread love and peace. On this day, we should think about the place these humane qualities have within our society. Day by day we hear that humanity in the world is slowly fading away. Acts of violence exceed acts of kindness. Thousands are killed every day through violence, and specially the most common threat we have today, terrorism.
Let’s spend some time to think about our place in the society. Change a few things in your very busy life. Place aside your worries and insecurities and think about bringing happiness to someone who is in need. Let’s step out from that box called selfishness which you locked yourself up for 356 days! The holiday times are hard for those who are not financially well off. Think about rendering some help to them. Put a smile on someone who is entirely not known to you! Make your day a memorable one!
The magic of Christmas comes in many ways. Yes, you should enjoy the time and the excessively delicious food. But let’s also think about what we don’t have, not personally, but with regard to the entire world. The Christmas spirit is everywhere. You can find it in the gleaming lights on the Christmas trees, in the shops, among the noises of playing children, your neighbor and also in the stranger sitting on the pavement begging for food and water. Let’s not forget why we should share and help on this joyful day!
